Chickpea Salad | Kabuli Chana Salad

Chickpea salad is a very simple and nutritious salad.
Chickpea also known as Garbanzo beans and in India it is known as chole or kabuli chana.

Chickpeas are loaded with protein and fiber.
The iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphate, zinc and vitamin K content present in chickpeas which contribute to building and maintaining bone strength.

Enjoy it as a light dinner, or pack it up for lunch or you can enjoy this as healthy breakfast or as an evening snack.

How to make Chickpea Salad

Ingredients:

Chickpeas/Kabuli Chana – 2 cups soaked in water for 6 to 8 hours
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Cucumber – 1/2 chopped
Tomato – 1 chopped
Green Chili – 2 finely chopped
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
coriander leaves – chopped
Chaat masala – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:

  • ┬áPressure cook soaked chickpeas with 4 cups of water and 1 tsp salt till 4 whistle.
  • Drain Chickpeas and Cool completely.
  • Combine the Chickpeas/kabuli chana with the remaining ingredients for the salad.
  • Serve chilled.

Stir Fried Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients:

Broccoli – Cut into medium sized pieces
Salt – as per taste
Lemon – 1/2 small
Olive oil – 2 tbsp

Method:

  1. First wash and cut Broccoli into medium sized pieces.
  2. Heat 2 cups of water in a pan. Add 1/4 tsp of salt.
  3. When water comes to boil, put broccoli pieces into boiling water. Boil it for 2 minutes and switch off the flame.
  4. Strain Broccoli from water.
  5. Now heat a frying pan. Pour oil.
  6. When oil is medium hot, add broccoli pieces and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  7. Now add salt, mix well and switch off the flame.
  8. Now squeeze 1/2 slice of lemon over it and mix well.
  9. Healthy and tangy Broccoli is ready.
  10. Serve hot.

  1. To make sure Avocado is ripen, Select darker colored (almost Black) Avocado.
  2. Hold it in one hand and Slice slowly down the center lengthwise around the seed, starting at the narrower end.
  3. Holding the avocado in the palm of one hand, use your other hand to twist and rotate the two halves apart. (Refer to above Video)
  4. Slice the avocado in half or cut into wedges. Then pull outer dark layer or skin away from the inner green flesh of the fruit.
  5. Now cut avocado into small pieces.
  6. Throw away skin and seed.
  7. Now take 1 cup milk and 2 teaspoons sugar to make avocado smoothie.
  8. Put avocado, milk and sugar in the jar and grind it just for few secs.
  9. Avocado smoothie is ready. Serve it in a cup or bowl.
  10. You can add more milk or ice to make it dilute.
