Simple Pua Recipe

Pua/Malpua is an Indian  dessert that is relished particularly during Holi. Pua is typically prepared in states of Bihar, Jharkhand and UP.
It’s basically a fried, Sweet and Crispy pancakes. There are varieties of Pua known as Malpua, Mawa Pua, Chashni pua (Raanpua) etc.
Here I am going to teach you the simplest way of making delicious pua. I am using Chashni or sugar syrup to dip the puas. This Pua is also known as Raanpua in Bihar.

Pua is Holi special dish but also enjoyed as sweet dessert anytime. Specially in Bihar you will find Pua in every home during holi festival.
You can have pua simply like dessert. It is also served with Mutton or Kathal ki Sabzi during Holi.

How to make Pua

All purpose flour / Maida – 1.5 cup
Milk – 1 cup
Banana(ripe) – 1/2
Sugar – 2 cups
Cardamom/Elaychi – 4 to 5 crushed
Water for making sugar syrup – 2 cups

How to make Malpua:

  • Peel the Cardamom to bring out the seeds. Crush or grind using a grinder seeds to make a powder.
  • To make chashni/sugar syrup, take 2 cups of Sugar and 2 cups of water together in a pan.Mix it well and bring to boil on high flame.
  • Once it starts boiling, add cardamom powder and keep boiling on low flame with stirring on intervals until 1 string Sugar syrup is ready. It will take approx 15 minutes.
  • For pua batter, take all purpose flour in a pan. Add milk slowly and mix well to make smooth batter.
  • Now take 1/2 piece of a ripe banana and mash it completely.
  • Add mashed banana to batter and mix very well.
  • Take oil in a deep pan and heat it properly.
  • Now with the help of a large spoon pour small portions of the batter in oil.
  • Fry this pua on low heat from both sides till its turns golden brown.
  • Take it out from oil and dip in prepared sugar syrup.
  • Leave it in syrup for 1 minute. Take it out from syrup and serve hot. Garnish with sliced pistachios, almond and saffron.
  • Repeat the same process for remaining batter.

Macaroni Kheer | Macaroni Dessert

Macaroni Kheer | Macaroni Dessert | Sweet Macaroni | Macaroni Paysam

Macaroni Kheer is a delicious recipe. This is basically macaroni cooked in milk with sugar. I am using milkmaid instead of sugar, but you can use sugar instead of milkmaid.  The difference is  you will get thicker texture while using milkmaid.

I have also used green Cardamom for getting nice aroma of it. You can add vanilla essence instead of cardamom. It’s based on your choice whether you like cardamom flavor or vanilla flavor.

Sweet Macaroni is a great choice for children.

Macaroni Kheer is also known as Macaroni Paysam or Sweet Macaroni.

How to make Macaroni Kheer

Milk – 1L
Macaroni – 1 bowl
Condensed Milk – 1/2 bowl
Crushed green Cardamom/Elaychi – 2

Making Macroni Kheer:

  • Heat milk in a heavy bottom pan and bring it to boil. When it starts boiling, add Macaroni to it.
  • Reduce flame to low and cook with continuous stirring until macaroni is completely cooked and the mixture turns slightly thick.
  • It will take around 15 to 20 mins.
  • When macaroni is cooked completely, add Condensed milk and cardamom powder. Mix well and bring it to a boil.
  • Turn off the flame and let it cool at room temperature.
  • Then refrigerate it for 2-3 hrs. Serve Macaroni kheer once chilled.

Phirni | Firni

Phirni is a delicious milk and rice based creamy Indian dessert.

1 tin – MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed milk

4 cups (500ml) – Milk

100 gm – – Rice

1 tsp – Elaichi (Cardamom) Powder

Dry fruits- of your choice



  • Soak rice in water for  1 to 2 hours. Drain water and grind to paste like suji/rava/semolina.
  • Add this paste to milk and heat together, stirring constantly so that the mixture does not stick to the bottom.
  • Keep boiling and stirring it on low flame for 15 minutes.
  • Now mix dry fruits(of your choice) pieces and cardamon / elaychi powder to it.
  • Now cook it for another 5 minutes.
  • Now add MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk and remove from fire. Leave to cool and set in a refrigerator. Serve with dry fruits pieces and rose petals.

Fruit Custard Recipe

Milk- 1/2 ltr
Chopped fruits of your choice(apple,banana,grapes,pomegranate etc)
Dry Fruits (almond,raisins..etc)
Sugar- 250 gm
Custard Powder- 3 table spoon


  • First put milk on heat. Once it becomes luke warm, take 2-3 spoons of milk and mix it with custard powder to make a paste.
  • Once milk gets boiled add sugar and mix well.Now add prepared custard paste to milk and keep stirring.
  • Keep stirring continuously for 2 minutes. Then add dry fruits pieces.
  • Boil it for 1 minute more and switch it off.Let it be cool and refrigerate for 2-3 hrs.
    Once it gets chilled, add all the cut fruits, make a heart shape with pomegranate and serve 🙂

  1. To make sure Avocado is ripen, Select darker colored (almost Black) Avocado.

  4. Slice the avocado in half or cut into wedges. Then pull outer dark layer or skin away from the inner green flesh of the fruit.
  5. Now cut avocado into small pieces.
  6. Throw away skin and seed.
  7. Now take 1 cup milk and 2 teaspoons sugar to make avocado smoothie.
  8. Put avocado, milk and sugar in the jar and grind it just for few secs.
  9. Avocado smoothie is ready. Serve it in a cup or bowl.
  10. You can add more milk or ice to make it dilute.

Coconut Ladoo | Nariyal Laddu

Coconut 500 gm grated
Condensed Milk – 400 gm
Cardamoms – 4-5 husked and powdered in a mortal-pestle


  • Heat 4 tbsp of Ghee in a frying pan.
  • Add grated coconut. Stir and saute coconut on low flame for 4-5 minutes.
  • Now add condensed milk. Mix well.
  • Cook till the mixture thickens. Keep stirring continuously.
  • Add cardamom powder.
  • When the mixture starts separating oil, switch off the flame.
  • Allow it to cool.
  • When the mixture is little warm, grease your palms.Take small portions of the mixture and roll it with your palm to form laddos.
  • Repeat it for whole mixture.
  • Now Coconut laddos are ready to eat. You can refrigerate it for 5-6 days.
